Gers fixture first up

Motherwell will open their 2017/18 Premiership campaign at home to Rangers.

The fixture list was announced on Friday with the Steelmen’s season kicking off the weekend of August 5.

Well will take on Pedro Caixinha’s new-look Rangers side, with the game potentially moved to Sunday, August 6 if Rangers progress to the third qualifying round of the Europa League.

The first Lanarkshire Derby of the season will take place on October 14 at the Superseal Stadium with Fir Park hosting the second derby of the season on December 30.

Motherwell’s last four games before the split include home ties against both sides of the Old Firm as well as visits to Hamilton and Perth to take on St Johnstone.
