Cambusnethan Miners Boxing Club are ready to roll with the punches again after a recent refurbishment.
Following recent fundraising events of bag packing in Morrison’s in Wishaw and a charity race night in the Cambusnethan Miners, the club decided to use the funds to future proof the structure of the building at a cost of £2,500.
This included ripping up the floor at the Woodhall Road centre with the hope it will never need to be done again.
Using a combination of help from local business and the labour of club coaches and members to complete the project, the floor was renewed and the foundations laid for a frame to support the punch bags.
Club members were thrilled with the renovations and hope future generations can continue to enhance their boxing skills.
Jim Yardley said: “The new floor has double the support from the original structure and will last a lifetime.
John McAbe added: “With the brickwork in the foundation now making the bag support independent of the building, it will help extend the life of the building by years”.
Everyone at Cambusnethan Miners Boxing Club would like to thank Doolan Skip Hire, Jewsons Wishaw, Bellside Building Supplies and David Pearson of Lanarkshire Welding for their support.
The club also thank all coaches and volunteers for dedicating their time helping with the refurbishment.
