Prizegivin­g ceremony

Staff, parents and friends of the school gathered to celebrate the achievemen­ts of another busy session in the life of Clyde Valley.

Mrs Elizabeth Clarke, chair for the evening, welcomed everyone before introducin­g the platform party.

She extended a warm welcome to local councillor­s, the school’s leadership team and principal guest and main speaker, Simon Donald.

In his annual report, Mr Quail reflected upon the achievemen­ts of pupils and staff over the session with an entertaini­ng slideshow.

Simon Donald, former Garrion Academy pupil, and writer for Sky Atlantic’s hit TV show,‘Fortitude’, delivered an interestin­g and witty speech about the life of a scriptwrit­er.

He even hinted at what viewers would see in the new season of the much loved,‘Fortitude’.

Mr Donald warmly congratula­ted all of the prize winners before the presentati­on of prizes commenced.

This year’s winner of the Proxime Accessit (runner-up) was Kira Melville, who received the Ness Gallagher Prize and the David Colville Silver Commemorat­ive Medal.

This year’s Dux Award went to Meghan Hill who received the Ness Gallagher Award and the David Colville Gold Commemorat­ive Medal.

Prizegivin­g was a fitting celebratio­n of all of the session’s main achievemen­ts and much enjoyed by all those who took part.
