Juniors to raise friendly funds again

-

Wishaw Juniors are doing their bit for charity once again ahead of the new season.

The Beltane Park side have two friendlies set up which will be free to all spectators.

The first match takes place tonight (Wednesday) against Blackburn United with a 7pm kick-off.

All are welcome to attend the game and there will be a collection for Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust at the gate instead of an admission fee.

The next fixture will be on Wednesday, July 26 against Fauldhouse United at 7pm.

Last year, Wishaw Juniors held a collection for Basics Food Bank and this year will support Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust.

LCCT helps support patients and carers by offering them transport to and from hospital for important appointments.

Club secretary Robert Watson said:“Junior clubs always like to get involved with the local community and all across the country clubs do things like this.

“We helped out Basics Food Bank last year and this year we wanted to help raise funds for Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust.

“With the game being free entry we would ask that people would make a donation and the more people who come to the games the better it is for ourselves and the charity.”
