With the announcement of the latest contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, we took to the streets to ask our readers what their guilty pleasures were on the small screen.

Celebrities such as Mollie King from the Saturday’s, Ruth Langsford from This Morning and entertainer Brian Conley all signed up for BBC’s dancing spectacular, we caught up with residents to see what they enjoyed watching.

Nancy Barbour, from Overtown, admits she will be watching the new series of Strictly Come Dancing but can’t stand reality television.

She said: “I tried to watch the reality shows years ago when they started but now I can’t be bothered with them at all.

“I will be watching Strictly Come Dancing though and I tune in every year.”

Tracey Ann-Wynn revealed she is hooked to reality TV, adding: “We came back from my holiday and I had two weeks worth to watch and my husband couldn’t wait to get back to work! “I watch basically every single one of them.” Megan Cunnigham told us how she was hooked to one show in particular which rocketed in popularity this year.

She said: “I watched all of Love Island and it was great because it was aimed at my age group.”

Megan’s mum, Irene, admits she only really bothers with the BBC’s flagship show.

The Cambusnethan woman added: “I’ll be watching Strictly Come Dancing but that’s the only one I watch.”
