Coltness High School head teacher so proud of their five Higher A passes

-

Coltness High School celebrated a hat-trick of success with three pupils gaining five A passes at Higher level.

Nathan Gray, Maria Patsilinacos and Aseem Ahmed’s hard work paid off when they each achieved five A passes.

Aseem, who achieved his passes in Chemistry, English, Human Biology, Maths and Physics only joined Coltness High in October 2013 after moving from Italy and at that time only speaking Italian and Urdu.

He also speaks French, Punjabi and Hindi.

This year he is Advanced Higher Maths, Physics and Italian.

He said:“I was shocked, especially with English; I wasn’t expecting that.

“I thought I could maybe get a B but not an A. I didn’t believe it.

“I thought they got it wrong. My mum and dad were very happy.”

Nathan picked up his passes in Computing, English, Maths, Music and Physics and is now studying Advanced Higher Maths as well as crashing both Higher Business and Accounting.

“I never expected to get five As, especially as I’d expected to get a C in English and would have been happy with a B,”said Nathan.

“My mum and dad are over the moon with my results.”

Maria, who is aiming to study medicine at university, achieved her Higher passes in Chemistry, English, Geography, Human Biology and Maths.

She added:“I really wasn’t expecting it, especially as I got a C at Maths in the prelim.

“I had worked really hard though and I’m really proud of my achievements.”
