Equality Forum at Pride

-

North Lanarkshire Council’s Employee Equality Forum is organising a delegation of employees and elected members to take part in Pride Glasgow’s Parade.

The annual event is a celebration of LGBT life in Scotland.

The parade, which will be held on Saturday, August 19, reflects the diversity of the LGBT community as individuals, organisations, businesses and community groups come together.

Wishaw councillor Fiona Fotheringham was at the official launch alongside Craigneuk councillor Agnes Magowan and Martin McCulloch, who represents the Fortissat ward.

Council chief executive Paul Jukes said: “The Pride Parade is an opportunity to not only show publicly, our support for LGBT people but also to showcase how exceptional North Lana rk s h i re Council employees are.”

Andrew McNaughton, member of the Employee Equality Forum added: “This united stand at pride should prove without a doubt that we’re doing the best we can for LGBT equality in North Lanarkshire.

“It’s a clear demonstration of partnership between employees and elected members and will make us even stronger.”

The parade also raises awareness of campaigns for LGBT equality.

The march will begin at noon leaving from Glasgow Green.
