Shotts tenants’ and residents’ association have their next meeting in Springhill Community Hall on Tuesday, September 5 at 7.30pm. For more information on the group, see their Facebook page. 1st Shotts Girls’ Brigade are still on holiday for the summer and will resume on Wednesday, August 23. Shotts Gala Day Anyone who shops online, can now donate to the gala day by using the following link at https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ causes/shottsgaladay/. 3rd Shotts Scout group The scout hall at 100 Benhar Road, Shotts, is available for any organisations in the community to use and requests to do so should be made to Mrs Mary Lees (Group Scout Leader) on 01501 821658. Shotts and District Rotary Club The 2017/18 season is now underway. Meetings are held in the Station Hotel, Shotts every Wednesday evening. The president this year is John Eadie. EU Congregational Church The service on Sunday morning will be held in the church at 11.30am. Singing group meets every Tuesday evening at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps the friendship club meets on Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm. The toddlers group resumes on Thursday morning at 9.30am until 11.30am. The prayer meeting will take place on Thursday evening at 7pm. Friday Club returns this week at 5.45pm followed by the JAM Club from 6.45pm until 7.45pm. The Sunday morning meeting will be held at 10.45am and will be led this week by Lieutenant Amy-Jo Battersby. Everyone is welcome. Bon Accord Club The club are taking new bookings, so do get in touch if you’d like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events. For more information, contact the club on 01501 821542. 32 Social Club Entertainment for members and friends is as follows; bingo is held in the lounge on Monday evenings at 8.30pm. There will be a cabaret and dancing to Chris Dee on Saturday, August 19. Tickets are now on sale for Shotts District annual buffet dance on Saturday, September 9, with dancing to the music of Gee Jay Wilson and vocalist Liz Sloan. More information is available by contacting the club. Shotts Bowling Club This week’s entertainment is as follows; bingo is held on Thursdays at 8pm. Saturday sees In Touch entertaining in the club from 8pm. The club will celebrate their 150th anniversary on Friday, September 8, and the entertainment for the evening will be provided by Eastwood, starting from 7.30pm until midnight. Tickets cost £2.50 each, and are available to book by contacting the club. Lodge St John 471 Meetings are now in summer recess. Members are asked to note that this as this is the 150th anniversary year of the lodge, a rededication service will be held in the Orange Hall on
