Two arrested after incident

Two people were arrested by police following an incident in a Wishaw street on Sunday.

A 26- year- old woman from Motherwell and a 25- year- old man from Coatbridge were arrested for alleged breach of the peace, assault, offensive weapon, resist arrest and police assault offences.

The incident happened between 11.50am and 12.05pm on Sunday, August 27, at Kirkhill Place in Netherton.

The man and woman were liberated for a police report.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to the alleged offence.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for informatio­n after a number of items were stolen from a shed in Wishaw.

Between 7.45am on Sunday, August 13, and 10am on Thursday, August 24, entry was gained into a shed at the rear of a property in Hawthorn Drive, Wishaw.

A petrol lawn mower, two sets of golf clubs, golf bags and quantity of tools were stolen.

Police are appealing for a member of the public to come forward if they witnessed anyone acting suspicious­ly in that area during the time of the offence.

Officers are also keen to trace a youth who left bus passengers terrified after a window was smashed as it was travelling through a Motherwell street.

At about 4.25pm on Sunday, August 27, a First Bus had its window damaged whilst travelling along Merry Street in Motherwell.

Fortunatel­y no passengers were injured during the incident.

It is believed that the damage occurred by a youth throwing a stone.
