Two Shotts boxers are getting set to represent Scotland in Poland – and hope the duo miss out on facing each other.

Springhill ABC’s Connie Ramsay and Lynn Calder are heading to the International Silesian Women’s Championship next week where they are both fighting in the 60kg category.

Head coach Frank Delaney will travel to Gilwice, Poland on Tuesday with the 11-strong women’s team as they look to bring back gold medals.

Frank said:“Both Lynn and Connie are fighting in the 60kg category so hopefully there’s a good draw and they don’t face each other.

“Ideally they’ll meet each other in the final!

“It will be a tough tournament there with a lot of the eastern European countries but hopefully the team can have some success.

“Connie has only had a couple of fights but she’s impressed with what she’s been doing at the training camps and Lynn has a lot of experience.

“There’s also a boxer, Elaine Greenan, from Livingston, who is fighting in the 60kg category so with three of them in it, you would think at least two of them will meet.”

The competition takes place from September 6 to 9 in Poland.
