New coaching staff at Dalziel

-

Dalziel RFC start their BT National League 3 campaign at home to Newton Stewart this coming Saturday.

This will be the first league game with the new coaching team of Bengy Barsanti and Graham Calder at the helm.

Barsanti was assistant coach to Jules Maxton for the past 18 months, before making the step up this summer.

Kiwi Barsanti has had a well travelled sporting career, playing in his native New Zealand, Italy and Scotland. While in Scotland, he played for both Hamilton and Stirling County, where he met Calder.

Former scrum-half Calder, son of Dalziel great Alan, played with Dalziel until 2002, when he moved to play for Heriots.

Since 2008, Graham has masterminded the club’s annual Youth Festival.

Calder said,“I am delighted to be back involved at Dalziel Rugby Club. The club means a lot to my family and I am honoured to be part of the coaching setup.”

Saturday’s game kicks off at 3pm at Dalziel Park.
