Adele joins elite

The manager of a popular Wishaw hotel has been honoured for her contribution to the hospitality industry.

Scottish Bar and Pub Awards, which incorporates the Dram Awards, has formally inducted the Commercial Hotel’s general manager Adele Montgomery into their Hall of Fame.

The award comes as the venue recently celebrated 10 years as the first hotel to join the Manorview Hotel and Leisure Group’s portfolio.

Adele’s history with the Commercial Hotel goes back even further, to the previous owners who were the McGuinness family. Adele, who lives locally, has worked in the hospitality industry for over 36 years.

She said: “To be recognised for my contribution to the industry was a big surprise.

“I turn up for work and keep things running but I have probably seen and dealt with just about everything.

“It’s been an entertaining journey and to be recognised is a great honour.”

Adele received her award at a glittering ceremony in Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel.
