Charity night for children’s hospital

- Michael Temlett

Motherwell Concert Hall will hold a fundraising night for Glasgow Children’s Charity next month.

‘A Musical Reunion’ will be held on Wednesday, October 4 and will feature Motherwell Symphonic Band performing film and swing band music as well as symphonic wind band repertoire.

The sounds of music which will be showcased also include Highland Cathedral on bagpipes, Les Miserables, In the Miller Mood and film music from many western movies and Disney classics such as the Jungle Book.

The money raised will go towards Glasgow Children’s Charity – who care for youngsters suffering from a variety of injuries or illnesses.

Every year they treat more than 160,000 youngsters across Scotland and rely on fundraising to keep providing their services.

Last year the band held a concert for CLIC Sargent and raised £2000.

This year, the Motherwell Symphonic Band will welcome special guests the St John Singers and Woodhead Primary School choir.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £ 5 for concessions and are available from any member of the band or by contacting the box office on 01698403120.
