Celebratory dinner

Law and District Athletics Club are holding an anniversary dinner this Saturday.

The club, who train at Wishaw Sports Centre, have marked their 50th year in existence with several events such as a recent athletics day at the John Cumming Stadium in Carluke.

A total of 150 athletes picked up medals for their participation on the day with tiny tots running too in front of a live DJ and running commentary.

On the track, the success keeps on going for the club with youngsters of all ages recently winning medals at the Scottish National Championships.

Now the celebrations will continue at the club with a formal event at the New Lanark Mill Hotel with past and present members sharing their memories of the club.
