Stane Primary Parent Council will hold their annual general meeting tonight (Wednesday, October 4) in Shotts Congregati­onal Church hall at 6pm. New members are welcome. Shotts tenants’ and residents’ associatio­n have their next meeting in Springhill Community Hall on Tuesday, November 7 at 7.30pm. See the group on Facebook for more informatio­n. Gala Day have their AGM on Wednesday, October 18 at 6.30pm in the Scout Hall in Benhar Road. The Halloween Party will take place on October 21, from 6pm until 10.30pm, in Springhill Marble Club. Tickets cost £4 and all children will receive a goody bag. Shotts and District Rotary Club have been drawn against Lockerbie Rotary Club at home in the first round of the annual District 1020 Quiz which takes place in the Station Hotel tonight.Meetings are held every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel, Shotts. Next Wednesday, October 11, there will be a talk from Dress for Success Scotland, a charity that helps women into employment by finding them work appropriat­e clothing and running programmes including confidence building. EU Congregati­onal Church will be open today for prayer and contemplat­ion from 11am until 1pm, with a service taking place from 11.30am. Ladies fellowship meets this Friday from 10.30am. The service on Sunday morning is at 11.30am and will be a harvest service and will include a guest speaker from the Water Aid charity. On Sunday evening the service will be held in the church at 6.30pm with singing group meeting on Tuesdays at 7pm. Tickets for the coffee morning this Saturday, October 7, priced £2.50, are still on sale and will be open from 10am until 12pm. Salvation Army Corps the friendship club meets on Tuesdays, from 1pm to 3pm and the youth club meets on Wednesdays, from 6pm to 7pm. The toddlers group meets on Thursday mornings, from 9.30am until 11.30am and the prayer meeting is held on Thursday evenings, at 7pm. Friday club meets from 5.45pm to 6.45pm and is followed by the JAM club from 6.45 to 7.45pm. The Sunday morning meeting at 10.45pm will be led this week by Major Kathy Betteridge. Everyone is welcome. There will be a family worship service held in an informal style, which includes a meal on Sunday afternoon, from 4.30pm until 6.30pm. This month’s theme is ‘Out Light’. All children must be accompanie­d by an adult.
