-

The first projected image competition at a meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society was judged by Peter de Demarco of Eastwood Photographic Society.

Peter is a professional photographer based in Glasgow.

There were 62 entries, which Peter examined, critiqued and scored before presenting his findings to the meeting.

The final results were: First place, “Riding High” by Tom McGinn; second was “Shore and the Guardian” by Paul Millar; third equal were “Ode to Silence” by Paul Millar, “The Bookworm” by Linda Greenhill and “Rain Brings Inspired Hope” by Paul Millar.

Peter awarded a highly commended to “The Swan” by Margaret Dewar.

The next meeting, on Thursday, will be the club’s themed competition where the subject for the projected images will be “Urban Landscapes” and for the prints “Sports”.

Entries will be judged and the eventual winners selected by the members on the night.

The first beginners’ class of this year will be on Friday and will be held in the upstairs rooms of the community centre.

Entries for the first print competition should be handed in at the meeting on October 19.
