Five star Courtney is Scottish champ Trio of gymnasts will represent the country

Motherwell gymnast Courtney Dunbar has been crowned Scottish champion.

The Ravenscrai­g athlete has now been selected for the Scotland squad at the British Final after her success in Perth.

Courtney will be joined by Niamh Llewelyn and Keia Crawford in the Scotland team after they were Scottish Voluntary Artistic Gymnastics.

Ten- year- old Courtney scooped five gold medals after she completed a clean sweep by winning on the vault, beam, bars, floor and overall title.

Niamh, also 10, finished third overall in the same level – three – with stellar performanc­es in the bars, vault and on the floor.

Nine-year-old Keia placed third in the level four category after winning gold on vault.

Rachel Quinn placed second on the beam.

The Motherwell club, who train at Ravenscrai­g, also had 12-yearold Erin Smith and Adele McEwan, 12, competing in Perth.

Erin placed fourth overall whilst Adele finished sixth on the bars.

The acrobatic gymnasts team of Evie Wise, Anya Stigwood and Emma McConnell just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth at their first ever event in South Tyneside.

Coach Suzy Cheng said: “This was their first competitio­n and have only been together as a group for two months.

“They performed brilliantl­y and a huge well done to our level four, three and two gymnasts for their success.”
