player Davie Hamilton but Rovers failed to test him enough in the opening half hour.

Just before the half hour mark, Slater’s side were awarded a penalty after Jack Baptie handled the ball.

But Hamilton heroically saved Eddie Haley’s penalty as Rovers started to ramp up the pressure.

Gary Gow then came close as he lobbed the keeper but the shot fell just over the bar.

But Rovers’ persistence paid off when Gow unleashed a shot which flew past Hamilton and gave Carluke the lead.

After the restart, Albert came out looking like a different side and levelled the tie just after the hour mark.

Tom Forrest was pushed in the back and the visitors were awarded a penalty.

Alan Campbell’s penalty was initially saved by Gareth Hallford but the Albert man netted the rebound.

Baptie was then ordered off moments later for a rash challenge and Rovers looked to make the two man advantage count.

But with less than five minutes remaining, it was Albert who could have won the game after Fraser Scott was fouled on the edge of the box.

Garry McGrath stepped up and fired the free kick towards the top corner when it looked destined to hit the back of the net.

But Hallford flew through the air and managed to earn a point. But it wasn’t enough to keep hold of the management team of Slater, Cameron ‘Spike’ McNeish and Craig Martin.

A statement on Carluke Rovers website read: “The committee would also like to take this opportunity to thank Colin, Spike and Craig for their service to the club and would like to wish them all the best for the future.

“The committee at Carluke Rovers FC are seeking applications by CV for the posts of manager, assistant manager and team physio. Applications should be sent to club secretary Tracey Cranston by mail to: 22 Greenfield Road, Carluke, ML8 5DA or by email to cranstt@sky.com.”
