OAP robbed in his own home

-

Detectives are appealing for information after a pensioner was robbed in his home in Harthill on Thursday night.

Around 9.30pm, two men forced their way into the home of a 79-year-old man in Breslin Terrace.

The men threatened him with a knife and demanded money, before making off with two-figure sum of cash.

The pensioner was not injured but has been left badly shaken by the incident.

Both suspects are described as white with medium builds.

The first male was wearing a dark or navy coloured anorak and the second a dark hooded top, both males had their hoods up and their faces covered.

Detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and will be checking for any CCTV footage opportunities.

Detective Constable Karen Murray said:“It’s possible these two suspects were loitering in the area prior to the crime taking place so I would like to appeal to local residents to think back and consider if they noticed these two males or if they noticed anything suspicious.

“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you, please do pass it on.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call officers at Wishaw CID on 101, quoting incident number 3826 of October 26, 2017. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
