Calderhead High School parent council meet on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the school. If you are a parent or guardian of a pupil at the school, the committee welcomes all parents and guardians along to observe one of their meetings. The group also have a new Twitter account “@Calderhead­PC” and the minutes of previous meetings can be found by visiting the school’s website. The next quiz night is coming up in November. St Patrick’s Opera Group will present their production of the hit musical “Spamalot” at Howden Park Centre, Livingston from next Tuesday, November 7 to Saturday, November 11. The cast always put on a great show and are often mistaken for a profession­al company. However, the group need the support of regular and new patrons if this year’s show is to be the success it deserves to be. The show contains lots of great music and comical sections, so whether you are a Monty Python fan or not it promises to be an excellent show. Shotts and District Rotary Club have their meetings every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel, Shotts. The club are now through to round two of the Inter District Club quiz. EU Congregati­onal Church The church will be open for prayer and contemplat­ion today (Wednesday), from 11am to 1pm, with a short service held at 11.30am until 12pm. This will be followed by tea and a chat in the large church hall. The service on Sunday morning is held in the church at 11.30am. Everyone is welcome, and singing group meets on Tuesdays at 7pm. Shotts Salvation Army Corps The friendship club meets on Tuesday afternoons, from 1pm to 3pm. The youth club meets on Wednesdays at 6pm to 8pm. The toddlers group meets on Thursdays at 9.30am to 11.30am. The prayer meeting is held on Thursday evenings at 7pm.
