it was a tough clash and that he was just pleased to still be in the competition.

He said: “We can play far better than that but, to be honest, the important thing is we’re still in the Scottish Cup.

“It was a game which could have gone either way so we’ve just got to make sure we go through to play them on Saturday and get the job done.

“A draw was a fair result and although it’s frustrating, we have to look at the positives and that is we’ve not been knocked out.

“We had a full squad back but, to be honest, the wind in the second half made the game a lot tougher to play and both sides struggled.

“We like to keep the ball down but even then the weather made it extremely tough for us.

“I didn’t know too much about Arniston Rangers before we played them but we’ve certainly got enough to go to their place and beat them.”

Wishaw were looking for a Scottish Cup run after a storming start to the season, sitting second in the Central District Second.

Things started well with the Beltane Park side on the front foot and they got their rewards after half an hour through McGuire.

Dan Kindlan danced his way past the Rangers defence and squared the ball to the Wishaw striker who simply couldn’t miss from five yards out.

But in the second half, Arniston hit back through McIntosh as some poor defending led to an opening for the visitors.

Now Brogan wants his side to respond in kind and insists an extra game in the early stage of the season is not an issue for his side.

He said: “If they can’t play one game a week at this stage of the season, then they shouldn’t be playing football.

“We’ve got a full squad to use and we’ll be confident of going there and putting in a much better performance.

“We’d like a run in the cup but first we have to take care of Arniston.”
