Coming together a room at a time
The St Andrew’s Hospice Room by Room campaign aims to raise funds to construct and ‘kit out’ the rooms of the refurbished Hospice.
Once the refurbishment is complete, the Hospice will have will have 21 single rooms, all with ensuite facilities, and three multi-occupancy rooms also with en-suite facilities.
Rooms will have space for patients’ family and friends to stay overnight and spend precious moments with their loved ones.
Fresh, modern design and décor with flexible heating and better lighting are key aspects of the room design.
All rooms will have more natural light from better positioned windows and patio doors which will give access to garden areas which will enable patients and families to feel a connection to the outside world beyond the walls of the Hospice.
Our central courtyard garden will also be improved.
The Daly family have raised over £10,000 for the Room by Room campaign by selling books and badges, holding a fashion show and having a regular stall at Monklands Hospital selling hand knitted baby wear.
The money raised by Marjory Daly and her family is enough to ‘kit out’ a room in the refurbished Hospice.
