The church will welcome the successful Ian Walker Band who will provide an evening of folk and gospel music to raise funds for the £9 million St Andrew’s Hospice Capital appeal. The band consists of three members, who have also enjoyed success in their own rights. His songs have been sung before Nelson Mandela and Arun Ghandi and he has performed in America, Germany, Holland and Ireland as well as throughout the UK. Ian’s sidekick, Jimmy Scott, is based in Bo’ness and enjoys singing his own brand of country gospel music. From an early age, he grew up singing old gospel hymns as an integral part of family life. Later he became interested in the music of Hank Williams, Jim Reeves and Johnny Cash. Jimmy also supported the iconic George Hamilton IV during his recent UK tours. And the female member of the musical trio is Moe Walker from Northern Ireland. She has performed as an acclaimed singer on the music scene for many years and appeared with her group, Tricycle, on television’s popular Variety show Thingummyjig, alongside performers such as Alastair McDonald and the Alexander Brothers. In recent years, she has performed throughout the UK, Germany, Holland and America. This talented group are guaranteed to provide an uplifting evening of catchy and thought-provoking folk and gospel music, presented with Ian’s quirky sense of humour.
