Harry is in a hurry to make even more music

- Music

Rutherglen singer Harry Mulvenna has had to wait five years to release his band’s debut album - and he already cannot wait for the next.

The Harry and the Henderson’s frontman will take to the stage at Stereo tomorrow night, Thursday, to officially launch Method of the Matchstick Men.

Already available online, the hard release will mark the start of a new chapter in the band’s career.

And Harry, 25, hopes it will lead to more success in the future.

“I’d like to take the album on tour, initially in Scotland and then the UK and a few places across Europe,” he said.

“My main aim is to get it out to as many different people as possible and hopefully be able to make even more music.

“It would be great to be super successful, but the aim is always to make more music.

“We started working on it about a year and a half ago so it has been quite a long process. We had to selffund it and did a bunch of gigs, so we are all really excited.

“It’s a buzz to get the hard copy for us, but a lot of people buy online now.”

The seven-piece band, which has members from Rutherglen and Cambuslang, have already made waves on the Scottish music scene.

Their brand of country, blues and rock has wooed audiences and critics alike all over Scotland and they have played at venues such as Oran Mor and the Kelvingrove Bandstand as well as various festivals.

And their album has already been warmly received by music fans.

Former Trinity High pupil Harry said: “The feedback has been really good.

“We’ve had people message us or mention us online and they seem to really like it.

“We just need to get more people to listen to it now.”

Thursday’s gig will see them backed by a 10-piece band to recreate the string sounds on the album.

Support will come from Avocet, QUICK and Miracle Glass Company.

Doors open at 7pm and . tickets cost £7. They can be bought from http://harrythehendersons. bigcartel.com/product/debutalbum-launch-ticket. Method of the Matchstick Men is on sale now.

It is available on iTunes and Bandcamp as well as available to listen to on Spotify.

Stereo is based at 22-24 Renfield
