Calderhead High School Parent Council meet on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the school. Any parents or guardians of pupils can come along and observe one of their meetings. The parent council also have a new Twitter account “@Calderhead­PC” and the minutes of meetings can be found on the school’s website. Shotts and District Rotary Club have their meetings every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel, Shotts. EU Congregati­onal Church The church will be open for prayer and contemplat­ion today (Wednesday) from 11am until 1pm, with a short service held at 11.30am to 12pm. This is followed by tea and a chat in the big church hall from 12pm to 1pm, with an elders meeting in the evening at 7pm. The service on Sunday mornings is held at 11.30am. Everyone is welcome, and singing group meets on Tuesdays at 7pm. Salvation Army Corps There will be no clubs or meetings held over the coming week due to maintenanc­e being carried out at the hall. Bon Accord Club The boxing show, due to take place on December 15 has been cancelled. The entertainm­ent for this week is bingo on Wednesday, Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 10pm. Singer Drew Mac will be in the lounge at 9pm. The Hogmanay party has now sold out. The club are also taking new bookings, so get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events and weddings. The annual prize bingo event is being held this Friday, December 1, starting at 7.30pm, eyes down at 8pm.
