Christmas classics are enjoyed by everyone

With Christmas less than a week away the TV schedules are full of festive films for the whole family to enjoy.

Whether it’s kids classics such as The Santa Claus and Miracle on 34th Street or more adult films like Elf or Bad Santa, there seems to be something for everone.

We took to the streets of Wishaw to find out what our readers’ Christmas movies are.

Robert McLaughlin was in no doubt what his favourite festive flick was. He said: “It has to be Home Alone. “I watched it with the wee one a couple of days ago.

“No matter how many times you watch it you still laugh it.”

Steve Cork gave his vote to a 1950’s Bing

The 74-year-old said: “It’s White Christmas for me.

“I still enjoy watching it even after all these years.”

Hebron June Valentine, from Muirhouse, went even further back for her Christmas classic.

She said: “I could sit and watch It’s A Wonderful Life all the time.

“It seems to be on most afternoons at the moment on the various channels.”

Sally Green, from Wishaw, gave a second vote to White Christmas.

She added: “I prefer watching the older Christmas films.

“I like the music in White Christmas too which is good.”
