Support is on hand as bad weather hits

-

Storm Caroline blew in bringing winter weather to Wishaw and district.

Now electricity company SP Energy Networks, which owns and maintains the powerlines in the Lanarkshire, has recognised that some customers need more support than others in the event of a power cut.

The company wants to remind its more vulnerable customers of the importance of joining its free Priority Services Register to access additional support should power supplies be affected by bad weather.

As well as serving the disabled, over 60s and those suffering from a chronic medical condition, the register is also open to those who may need support for a short period of time - such as families living with a new-born baby or recently discharged from hospital.

Customers, family, friends and neighbours can sign up to the register at https://www. spenergynetworks. co. uk/ pages/ priority_ services_ registration_form.aspx

The energy giant also offers additional support by working with local organisations who provide services to vulnerable customers such as grocery delivery, home- cooked meals, support with debt advice and assisting those with dementia, to name a few.

As well as their Priority Services Register, SP Energy Networks also offers a range of support services to customers who feel they need a little extra help.

All their services are provided free through trusted partners and customers can benefit from a variety of services from grocery delivery, to home- cooked meals delivered to their door, to debt advice.

Customers simply need to get in touch with SP Energy Networks and all of the hard work will be done for them.

Eddie Mulholland, District General Manager at SP Energy Networks for Lanarkshire said: “We recognise that every customer is different and that some of our them could do with a little extra help.

“Our range of services are available to support customers in their daily lives.”
