KITTED OUT WELL

-

Well Foundation has invested £500 in new kit for its footballers thanks to the ALDI Scottish Sport Fund.

As one of 87 Scottish sports clubs to benefit from the supermarket’s £40,000 Scottish Sport Fund in 2016, Well Foundation has now invested its funding in team bibs and equipment including new footballs.

Without the funding from the fund, the club would have had to rely on contributions from members to raise the money needed to purchase new equipment.

Fahim Baqir, Head Coach at Well Foundation Sports Academy, said:“The ALDI Scottish Sport Fund has made a massive difference to our club this year.

“Our members have been able to develop their skills and we’ve been able to significantly grow our membership as we have enough equipment now to do so.

“Knowing the work of our staff and members had been recognised by ALDI has given everyone a boost.

“I couldn’t recommend applying for the Sport Fund enough.”

The club has gone from strength to strength since securing the valuable funding from the fund, enjoying numerous achievements and increasing its membership to over 250 members attending training each week.

The fund was launched last year following ALDI’s national sponsorship of Team GB.

The Fund is designed to support charity sports clubs across Scotland and build a legacy from the Olympic Games by helping young people take part in physical activity within their local communities.
