Calderhead High School parent council meets on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the school. The next meeting will be held in February. Any parents or guardians of pupils can come along and observe one of their meetings. The parent council also have a Twitter account “@Calderhead­PC” and the minutes of meetings can be found on the school’s website. Shotts and District Rotary Club have their meetings every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel, Shotts. The service on Sunday morning is at 11.30am, and the Watchnight service will take place that evening at 11.15pm. Everyone is welcome to both of these festive services. Shotts Salvation Army Corps All clubs are now on holiday until January. The Sunday morning meeting at 10.45am will be led this week by Lieutenant Amy-Jo Battersby. Everyone is welcome. The band will be playing outside the Asda branch in Newmains this Saturday, December 23. The Watchnight service is at 8pm with tea and coffee being served from 7.30pm. This will also be led by Lieutenant Amy-Jo Battersby. Next Sunday’s meeting on December 31 is at 10.45am and will be led by Marilyn and Francis Aitken. Bon Accord Club Tickets are on sale for the ever popular Hogmanay show. Ricky Wild be appearing this Saturday from 9pm. Bingo will be held on Wednesday and Friday at 9pm and Saturday at 10pm. The club are taking new bookings, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events and weddings.
