Calderhead High School Parent Council meet on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the school. The next meeting will be held in February. If you are a parent or guardian of a pupil, you can come along and observe one of their meetings. The parent council also have a Twitter account “@Calderhead­PC” and the minutes of meetings can be found on the school’s website. Shotts and District Rotary Club have their meetings every Wednesday evening in the Station Hotel, Shotts. The service on Sunday morning, is at 11.30am. Everyone is welcome. Salvation Army Corps All clubs are still on their festive holidays. The Sunday morning meeting is at 10.45pm, and will be led this week by Lieutenant Amy-Jo Battersby. Everyone is welcome. Bon Accord Club The club is taking new bookings, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. The function hall is available to hire for events and weddings. For more informatio­n, contact the club on 01501 821542 or visit the Facebook page, where photos are on display of the hall dressed for weddings and events. 32 Social Club Entertainm­ent for members and friends is as follows: Monday night bingo sessions will resume on January 8. Shotts Bowling Club has bingo at 8pm on Thursday evenings, as usual. Lodge St John 471 The next meeting will be held on January 12 at 7.30pm, in the Orange Hall. Anniversar­y ties and jewels are still available for any members wishing to buy them. Community council meets on the first Monday of the month in the Community Centre on Kirk Road at 7.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings. See the group on Facebook at Shotts Community Council or ask to be added to their emailing list to be kept up-to-date. The next meeting will take place in February. Slimming group has classes every Wednesday at 9.30am, 5pm and 7pm in Epic Studios, Shottskirk Road (above Ladbrokes at Dykehead Cross). SNP group meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm in Springhill Community Centre. New members are welcome to attend these meetings. Artskool is an exciting project for children and adults alike, and offers art classes for all ages. Mondays from 6pm to 7.30pm is for ages eight to 11, Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12 noon is for adults, with a class for four to seven-year-olds at 6pm to
