Calderhead High School Parent Council meet on the first Thursday of every month at 6pm in the school. The next meeting will be in February. If you are a parent or guardian of a pupil, you can come along and observe one of their meetings. The parent council also have a Twitter account “@CalderheadPC” and the minutes of meetings can be found on the school’s website. Shotts Gala Day If you shop online, you can now donate to the gala day by using the following link: www. easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/shottsgaladay/. 3rd Shotts Scout Group The Scout hall at 100 Benhar Road, Shotts, is available for any organisations in the community to use and requests to do so should be made to Mrs Mary Lees (Group Scout Leader) on 01501 821658. Shotts and District Rotary Club have their meetings every Wednesday evening in the town’s Station Hotel. EU Congregational Church the morning service on Sundays is at 11.30am with the evening service at 6.30pm. Everyone is welcome. Singing group meets on Tuesdays at 7pm. Tickets are still on sale for the fabulous Scots Night tonight, at 7pm, at a cost of £3 each. Salvation Army Corps the friendship club meets on Tuesday afternoons, from 1pm to 3pm. On Wednesdays, the youth club gathers at 6pm to 8pm. The toddlers’ group is on Thursdays from 9.30am to 11am with the prayer meeting in the evening at 7pm. Friday Club meets each week from 5.45pm to 6.45pm, followed by the JAM Club at 6.45pm to 7.45pm. The Sunday morning meeting at 10.45am will be led this week by Lieutenant Amy-Jo Battersby. Bon Accord Club The club are taking new bookings, so do get in touch if you would like to hold an event there. Female vocalist Fiona Hillan will be in the club at 9pm in the lounge. Bingo will be played on Wednesday and Friday at 8pm and on Saturday at 10pm. A prize bingo will be held on February 4 at 7.30pm. The Jerseytones will be appearing along with Donna Glass on March 17 in the big hall. Tickets are available from Ian Brown on 01501 821542.
