Gaffer praises spirit

-

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson was proud of his players’ fighting spirit as their efforts were rewarded with a late equaliser.

And the Northern Irishman thought the Steelmen could have taken all three points back to Fir Park.

“Overall we had a one on one with Tanner through on the keeper, Main through on the keeper, Petravicius misses from about three yards with a header. Then the goal itself,”he said.

“I think we thoroughly deserved a draw and I’m actually a wee bit disappointed we didn’t take all three.

“When you’re scrambling at the end, chasing the last minute of the game we threw everything at it and I think that rounds off the spirit we have in the place. We fought to the death and I thought we thoroughly deserved a point.

“The boys never give up. These are boys you want to work with. Sometimes they’ll make mistakes and play better than others some days, but they give me 110 per cent every single match.

“The new signings have given us a really big lift. I think Curtis Main deserves a mention today. Absolutely superb, he worked his socks off.”

Referee Willie Collum came under fire, but Robinson defended the man in black.

He said:“Willie was strong. It’s hard when you come to Tynecastle not to get swayed by the crowd, but he was strong throughout.”
