Levein lays into Collum

-

Hearts manager Craig Levein laid the blame for his side’s draw firmly at referee Willie Collum’s door.

The Edinburgh side had two strong claims for penalties in the first half, which the former Scotland manager felt could have made a big difference to the overall outcome.

Levein said:“A lot of things happened today that were disappointing.

“For the life of me, I do not know how we did not get two penalties in the first half. The first one is the most blatant penalty you’ll see all year.

“The second one the handball is blatant. I’m disappointed in Willie’s performance. I’m disappointed for the players for the effort they put into the game after two particularly hard matches.

“I felt we merited being in front at half-time, we hit the post twice as well. I feel disappointed for the players and the supporters. ”

The manager was also unhappy with his defence, which had been resolute up until that point after going eight games without conceding.

“To be in front going into the fifth minute of injury time, and then to lose a goal was extremely disappointing,”he said.

“We invited the pressure by giving two free-kicks away in the last few minutes. We invited six or seven players into our box which during the game, you’d be lucky to have seen two or three at any one time.
