Readers’ anger at vandals WIN

-

A group of walkers are pleading with vandals to stop wrecking a Wishaw nature reserve. Several Cambusnethan residents are distraught at the state of paths at Greenhead Moss, which they believe are endangering dogs and young children. Our readers also hit out at the mindless vandals for causing the damage.

I’ve stopped walking my dog up there after he was almost run over by kids on motorbikes.

They knew we were there as they passed us and turned to come back by us again. I had my kids with me as well.

I now choose to just walk him on the street as none of the woodland walks are clean and safe in this area.

It’s a shame because he loves a good run. Karen May Turner It is shocking. The amount of broken glass is unbelievable.

I couldn’t walk down the stairs due to rubbish that had been set on fire and that now restricts the stair access which has also caused damage to the stairs again. What do these neds get out of this? Fee Eona

Staff at University Hospital Wishaw wanted a pizza the action last week as food chain Tony Macaroni popped in and handed out free food to workers in the form of 999 pizzas. Members of the public thanked the hard working staff at the hospital on our Facebook page.

The staff of this hospital deserve every thank you they get and more. They are all amazing and I personally can’t thank them enough. Mairi Mactaggart Nice gesture for great hard working staff. Well deserved. Shame the government thinks otherwise with their The Wishaw Press have kicked off a fantastic new feature to find our readers’ digital picture of the week.

We have teamed up with Morrisons in Kirk Road who will provide a FREE family meal for four (two adults and two children) at their cafe for every readers’ digital picture of the week that we print in our newspaper.

It can be photograph, selfie or image that you or your children have taken on a digital camera, iPad, or smartphone.

We are looking for either a picture that you have taken in the Wishaw area or perhaps a selfie of your family while you were on holiday at home or abroad, or children’s drawing on an iPad.

We would also like pictures of your special occasions, such as wedding anniversaries, children’s birthday parties, retirements dos, family celebrations, party pictures, club or group pictures, or any other big day or charity event.

All you have do is send your picture to us at news@wishawpress.co.uk or contact us through our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Please make sure you include your name, address and contact details and information about your picture.
