Race night secures a cash boost

Braidhurst Parents’ Group race night

Braidhurst’s Parents’ Group hosted a very successful and enjoyable race night at Fir Park stadium’s Centenary Suite on Friday April 27.

Over £1200 was raised for school funds from the sale of races, tickets and raffles.

All of the money raised is ploughed back into the school to help support pupil events and initiative­s.

Many thanks to parents who organised the event and all who supported it.

Malawi fundraisin­g – Tesco bag packing

The Malawi fundraiser­s were out in force at Tesco in Wishaw on Sunday, April 29 for another bag packing session.

This event raised funds for their upcoming visit and also to support their partner school, Missan Jo Community Day Secondary School, by funding initiative­s such as employing an attendance officer and buying much needed resources.

U16 football – Lanarkshir­e Cup Final

On Friday, April 27, the U16 team were in action against St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High School in the final of the Lanarkshir­e Cup.

The Braidhurst boys played very well and managed to score two goals from Barry Frew and Alistair Small. However, Braidhurst were pipped at the post by their opponents who beat them on penalties 4-3.

Performanc­e school graduates 1 & A

The school were delighted to welcome back three of their Scottish Football Associatio­n Performanc­e School graduates: Kyle Mitchell (Falkirk FC); Jamie Semple (Motherwell FC); and Kyle Connell (Blackburn Rovers FC).

The former pupils held a Q & A session with current S1-S2 football performanc­e pupils and were more than happy to pass on invaluable advice and guidance to them.
