Scott Allan has new promoters

Shotts scrapper Scott Allan can’t wait for a return to the ring after signing with new promoters.

Allan, nicknamed ‘Title Taker’has signed on the dotted line with St Andrew’s Sporting Club promoter Iain Wilson.

And with fights already pencilled in for June, September and October, Allan can’t wait to get back between the ropes.

The 26-year-old said: “I’m over the moon. It’s the first time in my career I’ll have all the outside stuff taken care of and I can just focus on the ring.

“St Andrew’s is the home of Scottish boxing. Their fight nets are always busy.

“With the promise of these fights it takes the pressure off me.”

After two successive losses to bantamweight rival Kash Farooq, Allan is hoping to get back to winning ways on his return to the ring.

He is also determined to get back into title contention after being forced to pull out of an all-Scottish tussle with Lee McGregor on the Josh Taylor undercard at the SSE Hydro.

He added:“It’s the first time I’ve had to pull out of a fight in 15 years.

“McGregor is a good boxer but he hasn’t been tested as a pro.

“I was ill. I’m not going into any fight to make a fool out of myself especially in front of thousands of people and a live TV audience.”
