MSP, who announced Scottish Government investment of £26,000 in the Child Accident Prevention Trust ahead of Child Safety Week. Child Safety Week, the flagship annual campaign run by CAPT, aimed to bring individuals and organisations around the UK together to promote safety messages in a fun and engaging way.
Ms Adamson said: “I was pleased that this month’s group could focus on child safety.
“Accidents are still a leading cause of deaths and injuries amongst children in Scotland and across the UK.
“That children from poorer families are 13 times more likely to suffer accidents shows a marked social inequality in this area.
“Many of these accidents can be prevented – that’s why it is important that we continue to raise awareness and promote best practice in accident prevention.”
