Three take gold medals at Scottish Schools
Law and District AAC athletes picked up four gold medals at the Scottish Schools track and field championships.
A number of athletes won medals at the tough competition in Grangemouth.
All four gold medals came from Carluke High School pupils. Dawn Russell ( Law Village) won gold in both the Under-14 hammer and javelin, while Shannon Gough (Law Village) won gold in the U15 discus and came fourth in the shot putt
James Gillon ( Carluke) won gold in the O17 2km steeplechase, bronze in the 1500m and fourth in the 800m.
Calvin Simpson from Biggar High School was 5th in the U14 shot putt and Katie Foss was fifth in the Under-17 300m.
Also competing were U15 Luc y McCormack ( Lesmahagow High) in the 100m and hurdles, Under-17 Rachel Donnelly (Motherwell) in the 300m hurdles and Under- 14 Mia Waldron (Motherwell) in the javelin.
At Under-15 Donald Gilchrist ( Lanark Grammar) came seventh in the 800m final.
Jessie Gilchrist ( Lanark Grammar) competed in the 800m.
At Under- 17 level May Venerus ( Biggar High) competed in the 100m, Ashleigh Farr ( Lesmahagow HS) in the 100m and 200m and Rachel Hunter (Carluke HS) in the 100m and 200m.
