With scorching temperatures across Scotland, the school holidays couldn’t have come at a better time for staff and pupils.

Whether it’s jetting off for some summer sun abroad or enjoy the good weather at home, there will be plenty of time to enjoy having a well deserved rest after a hard year of work.

We spoke to pupils at Cambusnethan Primary School before they broke up for the holidays to find out what they will be looking forward to during their six weeks of summer - and it seems there is plenty for them to pack in!

Harley Martin can’t wait to go on a trip of a lifetime.

She said: “I am going to Disneyland. I can’t wait.

“I will be going on all the rides like the tea- cups.”

Alexander Keir was also looking forward to a trip aboard.

“I’m going to Tenerife with my family,” said Alexander. “I love going in the swimming pool.” Robbie Higgins is also off to Tenerife but admitted he will be glued to the television for some of his holiday.

He said: “I will definitely be watching the World Cup.

“I’m also going to be playing a lot of football with my friends.”

Finally, Louise Hogg said: “I’m off to a caravan in Southend for three weeks.

“I’ll also be meeting up with friends.”
