Dare to go bare with nude lips

-

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to going bare – have you seen her internet snaps, oh and that infamous video?!

And with the launch of her new Nude Lip Collection, I realised just about every girl seems to be on a lifelong hunt for the perfect nude shade – a lipstick they can apply every day in a flash to wear just about anywhere.

The key when selecting your perfect nude is to understand what suits your skin tone and why.

You could go to a makeup counter and see hundreds of nudes but have no idea where to start. Or try on a shade only to look like a corpse.

Often I see girls who look like they applied concealer to the lips – not a good look. It’s all down to the undertone of your skin.

Your skin tone will absorb a lot of the colour, often reflecting something else you didn’t expect from the lipstick, leaving you confused.

The key to pulling off the perfect nude is to get some separation between your skin and lip tone, so keeping warmth and definition.

Too beige can wash out a fair complexion , while too pink nudes can appear frosty on darker skin tones. Here are some guidelines. Fair skin – peachy neutral which will brighten your complexion.

Olive skin – pink coral nude – anything too tawny will look muddy.

Medium skin – dusky rose nude. Think pink over peach to give a browny nude finish.

Deep skin tone –rich golden browns to accentuate your natural warmth.

Some of my favourites are by MAC – Patisserie, Kinda Sexy, Velvet Teddy, Brave and Shanghai Spice so pay lip service to a new nude shade.
