FP’S pre-season plans under way
It might only be July, butwishaw High School Former Pupils plans for the new campaign are well and truly underway.
Last season the team swept all before them in winning the Fosters Central Scottish AFL Division 1B title which earned them promotion to the top division.
This season’s preparations got off to a good start with a 5-2 victory over Craigshill.
Wishaw’s goals included a double from Ross Hill with new signing Jasonthomson also getting on the scoresheet.
This was closely followed by a 1-1 draw with newly promoted Uddingston.
Last week sawwishaw’s toughest test so far when they came up against Super Premier One team Larkhallthistle.
The trip to facethistle at Gasworks Park was always going to be a difficult one against the junior side.
The game started very slow and tookwishaw until 30 minutes to get into the game.
The second half was a different story withwishaw producing some great football and running out deserved winners with a 2-0 scoreline with the goals coming from captain, and last season’s Players Player of theyear, Davie Paris and Ross Hill.
Wishaw continue their pre-season preparations with a match against Doune Castle on Saturday followed by a game against Lesmahagow next Wednesday night.
