Mental health boost through choir’s work

-

A community arts organisation based in Craigneuk is aiming to raise awareness of mental health through music.

Soundsational’s music and managing directortommy Chambers, operations manager Jen Phee and Sandy Jones, wrote the show-stopping Mental Hthe Musical forthe Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, which was supported by NHS Lanarkshire and Lanarkshire Recovery Network earlier this year.

There has been great demand for a follow up, so the group will be performing at the choir’s annual show at Motherwell Concert Hall on September 29.

The All Stars and the brand new South Lanarkshire Soundsational Choir as well as the already well established North Lanarkshire Soundsational Community Choir and Advanced Choir, will be performing on the night.

There will also be guest appearances from Michelle Mcmanus, who will perform and host the evening and performances from the extremely talented and funny Edward Reid. Soundsational are a community choir and over the past eight years have performed for the BBC, STV, lots of radio and tv appearances and were the first act to perform at the SSE Hydro.

They have one of the largest community choirs in Scotland and whilst they maintain an open door policy to anyone who wants to sing, they do perform to a very high standard.
