DREAM MAKERS HAVING A BALL

Wishaw Press - - DISTRICT NEWS -

Staff at a Wishaw charity are bursting with pride after raising more than £56,500 at the annual Les Hoey MBE Dreammaker Foundation ball.

Les, his charity co-ordinator Angela Jamieson Cook, assistant Laura Cochrane and volunteers worked tirelessly for months to make the event at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow a success and were delighted with how the night went.

This is the most the charity has raised at the event and staff are over the moon to see the total rising year on year.

Les said: “This was the best yet. The girls did an amazing job putting together such a brilliant event. We were delighted when we realised how much we had raised. It was beyond what we thought.

“Thank you to each and everyone person who helped organise it, to those who donated and attended and to everyone who has supported us over the years.”

Mrs Brown’s Boys actor Gary Hollywood hosted the fun-filled evening and boyband 5ive performed their classic hits for guests.

The Dreammaker Foundation helps children and their siblings going through gruelling treatments to meet their idols.

The children are also given the chance to go along to concerts, theatre shows, football games and outings to M&D’S theme park, Blair Drummond Safari Park, zoos, restaurants or anything they desire.
