Held in Ravenscraig Sports Centre, several fighters from Vision TKD – based at Wishaw Sports Centre – took to the ring over the course of the weekend event.
The first day of the competition was for Poomsae, which sees competitors take on the Taekwondo forms, a pre-defined set of movements to showcase kicking and punching skill.
The four Vision competitors all performed excellently to collectively win three silver medals and one bronze.
The second day saw sparring take place, which attracted more than 300 competitors from across the UK and Europe.
Of the 27 Vision students competing, the team won a total of eight gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals.
That saw them win the third place team trophy out of 35 competing teams.
Ross Eden, joint head coach at Vision alongside brother Craig, said he was delighted with how his team fared. He said:“we are extremely proud of all of our students who took part across the weekend and as one of the youngest clubs competing we couldn’t be happier with everyone’s progress.
“Both our experienced competitors and our beginners who were competing for the first time did exceptionally well.
“If anyone would like to join the club then they can email us at visiontkd@hotmail.co.uk or find us on Facebook at Vision Taekwondo.”
