No love for our new lights

-

Readers on our social media pages blasted the council’s decision to install new energy efficient lights across Wishaw. Angry locals hit out, claiming the new lights are simply not bright enough. Perhaps they could actually do something about turning the lights on in Rannoch Drive.

The full street lights seem to be regularly out and an accident waiting to happen. Mary Bradley It’s the same up Etive Crescent.

I think there’s only two or three streets in Pather that actually have functioning street lights.

It’s ridiculous. Toria Monkeypants I’ve got more light from my phone.

It’s dangerous for the elderly. Anne Marie Mcculloch They are terrible. That will be my mum housebound from when it gets dark.

It’s far too dangerous. Louisa Mitchell It’s so dangerous in the winter nights.

You can’t see much. Why did they do this? It’s an accident waiting to happen. Amanda Skelton I think the new white ones on my street are better than the old ones. Nicola Bradley Can they not put the bright ones they have replaced on the main roads? Kenny Kennedy Curlinghaugh only have them on one side so the other side is completely dark. Sara Murray Thewishaw Press have kicked off a fantastic feature to find our readers’digital picture of the week.
