SICK PERVERT LOSES APPEAL

Man groomed children with cartoon sex show

- Ross Thomson

A Wishaw pervert, who groomed two young boys by showing graphic sexual images to them, has had his appeal thrown out.

Declan Boyle, right, was handed a threeyear supervision order and banned from using social media in February this year after being found guilty of showing the grotesque pictures to the kids.

However, sick Boyle, who was run out of his house in Craigneuk following the case, appealed to the Appeal Court in Edinburgh.

But the case was thrown out bringing relief to the families of Boyle’s victims.

One of the boy’s mothers spoke exclusively to the Wishaw Press following the appeal decision.

She said: “The feeling is one of total relief. I’ve never been so glad of anything in my life.

“Finally we can look forward instead of looking back and worrying.

“We can now start the healing process without this hanging over us.

“Everyone is just relieved. He would have made the kids go back in the witness box if he could.”

The mum of Boyle’s other victim was in court when the appeal decision was delivered. She added: “It was really over whelming. “This has been hanging over us for years. The court case took ages and was very traumatising for my son.

“He has started to get the help he needs but going past Boyle’s old house is a reminder to him of what happened.”

Boyle had groomed his young victims by playing online video games, such as Flappy Birds, with them.

He then stopped the games and replaced them with images of cartoon characters engaged in sexual activity.

He also showed one of the boys a picture of him naked.

One victim told the court 22-year-old Boyle had targeted him over a five-year period which began when he was aged just three.

Boyle always maintained his innocence with his victims being forced to give evidence against him at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

However, a jury unanimously found him guilty of causing children to look at sexual images between December 2010 and July 2015.

Finally we can look forward - victim’s mum
