Hair we go for family double

-

Awishaw mum and daughter are shaving their hair to raise money for a cancer charity.

Helen Bradley, 57, and Cherelle Mcdaid, 32, have decided to brave the shave for Macmillan Cancer Support after losing close friends and family members to the cruel disease.

The ladies will be braving the chop on Saturday at the Oldwine Store in Shotts.

Mum-of-three Helen said:“i’m doing this in memory of my best friend and my dad who both lost their fight with cancer. “I also have a friend who has been recently diagnosed with the disease. “So many families go through this and the support from Macmillan is invaluable.

“I did Sober October two years ago and I would rather lose my hair than give up wine for a month.”

As well as getting their hair shaved off, Helen and Cherelle have organised a fun-filled day at the pub in a bid to raise as much money as possible to the charity.

There will be a raffle with prizes including meal and beauty vouchers and alcohol up for grabs, a DJ ready to get the party started and home baking.

Helen and Cherelle’s new hair style will be very noticeable, as they are both getting a number two all over.the big shave will be showed live on their Facebook page for those who can’t make it along on the day.
