Readers pick their favourite Xmas flick

Which festive film do you think is best?

-

As we draw closer to the big day there is one thing guaranteed to get people feeling festive - Christmas movies.

And whether it is an old black and white classic or a new animated hit, Christmas films can always bring the family together and ready to celebrate before December 25th.

We decided to go out on the street in Wishaw and try and settle the old debate - what is the best Christmas film of all time?

Eileen Mcculloch, from Cleland, went for a 1990’s classic. She said: “I always watch Miracle on 34th Street. “It wouldn’t feel like Christmas without seeing it in December at some point.”

I would have to say It’s a Wonderful Life. That is the most classic Christmas film. Ann Mimnaugh

Ann Mimnaugh, also from Cleland, went for another Christmas favourite. She said: “I would have to say It’s a Wonderful Life. “That is the most classic Christmas film in my eyes.”

Selena Campbell, from Motherwell, went for a more recent film that has become extremely popular. She said: “I would say The Grinch is my favourite. “It’s so funny and Jim Carrey is just brilliant in it.” Paige Johnston, also from Motherwell, went for a cold but not strictly festive flick. She said: “I would pick Happy Feet. “It’s just such a nice, happy film so we always watch it around Christmas.”
