Cambusnethan Old and Morningside Parish Church The service on Sunday, December 16, will be the third Sunday of Advent and will be held at 11.30am with creche and Sunday school. All will be welcome to join any of the services in the run up to Christmas. Mr Ian White continues in the role of locum minister and will conduct the service. He can be contacted on 01555 890704 for pastoral visits. There will be the usual watchnight service on Monday, December 24 at 11.30pm. Sadly, there will be no Walk of Witness prior to this year’s service. A short family service will be held on Christmas morning at 10.30am. The lunch club continues to meet between 11.30am and 12.45pm on Fridays in the church hall. New members are always welcome. Irene Anderson can be contacted on 01698 359079 for further information. Parents’ and toddlers’ group meet on Wednesday mornings between 9.30 and 11.30am. New members will be made most welcome. Girls’ Brigade continue on Wednesday evenings in the church halls between 6.15 and 9pm. Boys’ Brigade meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Friday at their usual times. The last guild meeting of this year on Tuesday, December 18 will be the Christmas lunch held in New Lanark Mill Hotel. Members are reminded to meet at the church halls by 12.45pm for travel to the hotel for lunch at 1.30pm. The men’s club meets on Wednesday evenings at the usual time of 7.15pm and new members would be most welcome. All organisations are reminded to submit their accounts for audit for the end of the financial year and any donations before the end of December. Cambusnethan Club Entertainments begins with social dancing plus cash bingo on Thursday, cabaret and dancing with Family Affair plus bingo on Friday, cabaret and dancing in the concert hall with top vocalists, Billy Fox and Donna Glass on Saturday. Bingo, snowball of £150 and treasure chest. A sing-a-long in the lounge with Billy Meredith from 4.30-9.30pm plus bingo on Sunday with snacks available. Monday sees dancing with Johnny Weir plus bingo and Slimming World class at 7.30pm on Tuesdays. The Christmas Day meals are now fully booked. Tickets can now be uplifted for the New Year’s Eve dance.
