They also later offered much needed advice to any photographers wishing to visit these parts, with advice not only on photographic techniques but also on how to prepare properly to cope with temperatures as cold as -20°C, while travelling and photographing scenes or wildlife. This Friday’s meeting will be the GDPU image league between Carluke and Motherwell and the judge will be Fiona Brims. As always, this meeting will begin at 7.30pm on Friday in St Andrews Church hall in Mount Stewart Street and visitors and guests are always most welcome. The group are currently looking for new premises in the village. Food Bank thanks everyone for their continued support and is open in the village on Wednesdays at 1pm. To make up Christmas hampers the food bank would be grateful for donations of any of the following items: shortbread, mince pies, Christmas cake, Christmas puddings, selection packs, chocolate, and Christmas logs. The group would also like to say a big thank you to everyone for all their generosity and support throughout the year. Festive services Special services will take place in Coltness Memorial church next week starting with Newmains primary’s church service on Tuesday, December 18 at 10am. This will be followed on Wednesday, December 19 with Morningside primary’s service at 10am in the same venue.
